What We Are Learning:
We are still working on manners, proper behavior, routines, and expectations for school. We will begin to hand out Cardinal Cash this week. This is our school wide incentive to work hard and make good decisions. They can save their money and buy things from the cart on Fridays.

This week we will be reading books about apples and colors. We will review our colors for the next 2 weeks and do lots with apples to go along with the Apple Festival. Please refer to your letter about our colors to wear everyday. We will discuss all colors on Tuesday, Wednesday will be yellow, Thursday is green, and Friday will be red. We will be graphing, sorting, making patterns, and counting apples next week also.

Your child will be bringing home his/her first library book today. Please help him/her keep up with the book until Friday and then we will go back to the library and get a new one.

What We Are Learning:
We are still working on manners, proper behavior, routines, and expectations for school. Here is a list of our rules we came up with for our classroom. Please help your child remember these and practice at home.
1. Raise hand when you would like to talk.
2. Use manners.
3. Keep hands and feet to yourself.
4. Use nice words.
5. Follow Directions.

This week we will be reading, Chicka, Chicka, Boom, Boom and working on the alphabet. We will also be reading A my name is Alice and working on our names. We need to be able to recognize our names and write our first name.

Welcome Back!

We have 3 days behind us and boy are we tired, but... we have had a great 3 days! Mrs. Alford and I have 23 precious 5 year olds that are so full of energy and ready to learn! I don't think I've ever been this tired in all 11 years of teaching, but they are so excited, so how can you not be excited? I will be posting my newsletter next Monday here and some pictures from this week. Stay tuned!

Boy have I been working hard to get our Kindergarten room ready! Look at pictures of the room. I can't wait until Monday to see all those smiling 5 year old faces!
