Important Dates:
Oct. 1st- Another day to have your child’s book bag engraved. Please let us know if you are interested and we will send home a sheet.

Oct. 9th-15th- Book Fair starts
Oct. 14th- Open House 5-7 and Book Fair open to parents.

Oct. 22nd- Field Trip to Farm. Letter and permission form is in folders today! Please fill out and let us know asap about what kind of lunch your child will need.

Oct. 29th- Report Cards Go Home

Oct. 30th- Make –Up Pictures. Please let us know if you want them re-done.

Thank you for helping your child remember their library book by Friday!!!!!!

Please help your child finish his/her homework by Friday and return by Friday every week!

What We Are Learning:
Reading: We will be reviewing the letters a, m, s, r, and adding t. We will learn how to form the letter, the sound, and words that begin with these letters. We will also continue to work on the difference between a word and a letter, rhyming words, a sentence frame, and the main idea of a story.
Math: We will review #0-9 and add the number 10. We will practice counting items to 10.

Weekly News from Kindergarten Sept. 8-12, 2008


Please remember to send your child’s library book back to school by Friday. You may return it any day. It will stay in your child’s cubby if you return it early.

Star Students:
Beau & Amy are our star students this week!!

Homework:
Our first homework will start this week. Inside your child’s folder is a clear plastic folder labeled homework. Inside is what we would like for your child to do this week. Homework will come home on Mondays and should be returned on Fridays. Please make sure your child does most of the homework. Please read to your child every night also. Don’t forget to fill out the Faith’s 100 sheet with every book you read to your child. They will get a t-shirt when 100 books are written down and returned.
What We are Learning This Week:
Reading: We will be reading Moo, Moo, Brown Cow and I Read Signs. We will be learning how to handle books, signs/environmental print, and what is the difference in a word and a letter. We are still working on writing our first names.
Math: Colors and Shapes
Don’t forget our color of the days!
Monday- Blue
Tuesday- Orange
Wednesday- Pink/Purple
Thursday-Brown
Friday- Black/White

Please remember to look at and sign your child’s behavior calendar every day!
